I was heading back to Minneapolis at the end of June, and this time I planned no stops. I wanted to get the trip over with as fast as possible. I went a little too fast on a highway north of North Platte, Nebraska. A cop pulled me over having followed me for about five minutes after I sped up to pass a gas truck. I guess, he could not make up his mind. He gave me a long lecture on highway safety, passing a gas truck, and him wanting to return back to his family. He let me off with a warning, and I took his comments to heart, avoided speeding on that two lane road as hard as it was, and even made a stop to reflect on the experience and enjoy the beauty of the prairie.
