A first weekend in May and the mountains of the Front Range received one of the biggest snowfalls of the season. I could not resist and headed for the winter wonderland. Starting early, I had the trail all to myself. It was a beautiful hike from the Glacier Gorge trailhead to the Loch in over a foot of fresh snow. If there are places and times I like to think back to, this definitely is high on the list.
