South Dakota, Wyoming and Nebraska (2001)

Ever since Radka moved to Twin Cities, I have had a chance to get to know some of the Great Plains region that lies in between Minnesota and Colorado. Driving west through Minnesota, the landscape slowly changes from one of deciduous forests to that of corn fields and dairy farming. As one travels farther west into South Dakota, the climate gradually dries up, and wheat fields give way to an open prairie. At the very western edge of South Dakota, Black Hills provide a taste of the mountains farther west. But not before seeing more prairie landscape in eastern Wyoming.
